Our purpose
A shared standard of excellence
The Board exists to define and uphold a shared standard of excellence in laryngology across Europe through a formal post-graduate examination.
This initiative brings European laryngology in line with other surgical disciplines that have long offered structured, board-level certification — and the Council looks forward to welcoming the first cohort to what we hope becomes a defining credential for the specialty.

Applications for the 2027 examination open on 15 October 2026 at 12:00 CEST (Brussels time) and are limited to 12 candidates.
